Sirius
Sirius is the brightest star in the night sky: over 20 times brighter than
our Sun and over twice as massive.
It is at 8.7 light years distance in the
constellation "Canis Majoris".
sirius is actually a binary system: Sirius B is 10'000 times dimmer than the
bright primary and is a white dwarf.
