My primary interest focuses on the errors in computational electromagnetics. The goal is to allow errors in the calculation procedure whenever they do not contribute to the requested final result but do reduce the total amount of computation.

Other activities concern EMC and HF-Metrology .

  • ElectroStatic Discharge (ESD), in particular the calibration setup for ESD-guns [see the Field of electrostatic discharge (ESD)]
  • reverberation chamber testing
  • Connector modelling and Network Analyzer Calibration up to 70 GHz (Como70)

Electromagnetic fields are `useless' without visualizing them. It is still my strong conviction that animated representations of field quantities give a much stronger insight in the true physics. Hence I am also working on improving the respective visualization techniques. You might find some nice examples of animated electromagnetic fields on my teaching pages .
